If you're looking to celebrate Valentine's Day with someone special this year, here are some ' low key ' ideas of what to do with your other half!
CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY, BUT ON ANOTHER DAY
It sounds weird but I thoroughly enjoy this one. I tend to not go anywhere on the night of the 14th as everyone is trying to create this image of a perfect relationship, where everything revolves around money. By going out for a meal and getting a small but meaningful gift just a few days earlier or later, it automatically takes all the pressure off and the dinner is much cheaper, ha!
DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY UNROMANTIC
Flower, dinners, chocolate, and smooches make you feel a little sick? Why not do something AWESOME with your partner that doesn't involve any of that. Well, maybe the smooching if you like. Go paint bowling or take a boxing class together! It'll be a night to remember and it doesn't have to be cheesy at all.
If you still like the idea of Valentine's Day being ' cute ' but don't want to go completely all out, you can both cook a romantic dinner at home, with wine and heart-shaped pudding.
THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE
If you are strongly against celebrating Valentine's Day but maybe your other half likes the idea of it you could make them a meaningful gift. A cute collage of your photos together, a scrapbook of memories or a hand made card will be remembered forever.
