10 things you must do in December

1. Visit a Christmas Market

If you’re lucky enough to visit one aboard you must tell me all about it, but don’t forget there are Pop up Christmas Market all over the UK during December. If you’re feeling super fancy you go try Winter Wonderland, and if you’re local to Sussex and want something more ‘ budget-friendly ‘Worthing Christmas Market did not disappoint last year. I have just come back from a Christmas Market in Krakow and it was amazing. Check out my Instagram for more @iam_olajohnson

2. Have Christmas drinks with friends

This is basically a tradition for me at this point, but in December I get all my friends to come to the pub, wear cosy hats and gloves and make sure I get to have a drink with everyone before Christmas. Last year we tried a cue Christmas teepee with mulled cider and it was magical. You can also do this at home to take the ‘cosy ‘ part of this to a whole new level.

3. Make Festive drinks

Mulled wine, mulled cider, hot chocolate, gingerbread coffee or try an American alternative, eggnog.

4. Have a Christmas Movie Marathon

You can do this by yourself, with family or friends, This is the time of year to catch up on all the classics. Mine are The Holiday, Elf and of course, Home Alone.

5. Wear a stupid Christmas jumper

I mean, it is even Christmas time if you don’t get to wear your most embarrassing Christmas jumper to the office?

6. Make a homemade Festive pudding

For all my foodies out there, find a great recipe for mince pies, pumpkin pie or gingerbread cookies. Or if you can’t be bothered to bake you can always just buy them. Enjoy!

7. Go Ice skating

If you get to visit Brighton this December, the ice skating at Royal Pavilion is magical this time of year.

8. Do a Christmas theme photoshoot

Set up your phone or camera and pose in front of your Christmastime with a friend, or your cat. The photos make the perfect Christmas card for the following year, or the same one if you’re really organised.

9. Go see the Christmas lights

Great excuse to visit the surrounding towns and see how they have decorated the place this Christmas.

10. Do at least one random act of Kindness

Here’s a list of lovely things you can do to get in the holiday spirit.
